Why

Me?

“I am on a mission to help inclusive leaders intentionally build workplace cultures that create more safety, trust, and belonging for all employees. As a nationally recognized diversity, equity, and inclusion thought leader, I LOVE sharing my message about why Imagining Belonging is the key ingredient to establishing a long-term vision to building healthy workplace cultures.

I recently published my second book, Imagine Belonging, with the goal to grow the #BelongingMovement -a movement specifically for inclusive leaders, visionaries, and change makers gathering together to build workplaces where everyone on the team can show up as authentically as they want, leading to more cohesive teams and business success.

With 20+ years of helping leaders, and those on their way to joining them, build inclusive and equitable workplace cultures, I enjoy speaking with fellow podcast hosts (I have a few shows as well) about the thorny challenges that often stymie an organization’s well-intentioned DEI commitments. As a seasoned human rights advocate, I’m prepared to speak in sound bites, clearly answer your thoughtful questions, and I thrive when I get to make abstract concepts accessible to your audience through dynamic stories and case studies.

Imagine Belonging offers your inclusive leadership guide to building an equitable workplace. It empowers leaders at all levels within an organization establish a bold vision of how to lead, build teams, and structure our organizations in a more equitable and inclusive way. It offers concrete strategies on how inclusive leaders can begin clarifying new possibilities to achieve this vision. It also helps identify what supports are necessary to begin using this vision to begin building something better.

Essentially, this book is an insider view of how I spot my clients build more equitable workplaces. Visit www.imaginebelonging.com to access a sample chapter, review testimonials, and more. The book will spark your imagination and inspire you to build belonging at work.

Thanks for growing the #BelongingMovement!”

Book Synopsis

Imagine Belonging

Belonging. It is an essential human need, just as important in the workplace as anywhere else. Yet all too often, organizations pay lip service to diversity, equity and inclusion commitments. They fail to build an enduring culture of belonging, particularly for those employees least likely to feel a sense of psychological safety. In Imagine Belonging, Rhodes Perry offers a powerful framework inspiring leaders to upend workplace inequities of bias and exclusion reinforced by dominant culture systems.

Perry draws upon his distinguished career as a nationally recognized DEI thought leader to help you understand complex issues like power, privilege, targeted universalism, and belonging at a deeper level. He offers practical case studies, proven strategies, and rich stories empowering you to overcome the common barriers that often stymie your organization’s DEI goals. His original writing encourages you to positively influence your workplace culture by embracing inclusive leadership practices, cooperative team building methods, and fresh approaches on how to equitably structure your work. Perry’s writing is personal and engaging and invites you to not only participate in the conversation, but also motivates you to create systems of belonging in your workplace and communities.

Imagine Belonging helps you recognize the relative power and privilege you hold to transform yourself, your team, and your workplace. Whether your organization is just beginning its DEI journey, or is further along in the process, Imagine Belonging will inspire you to transform your vision of belonging at work into a reality…and reap the rewards that result from establishing an equitable organization.
